“This is going to be the biggest transformation of knowledge work we’ve ever seen.”
Hello all from Italy,
The realisation that Generative AI will forever change all knowledge work is starting to crystalise…. And the number of companies emerging to fill the seemingly infinite use cases of Generative AI is growing rapidly. While tools such as ChatGPT are all the craze in 2023, some savvy companies were ahead of the curve…
💃 May Habib is the co-founder and CEO of Writer, an enterprise-first Generative AI platform built for the needs of companies and teams. While May is impressive in her own right — with an extensive track record in business and tech investing — she is also unique in being one of the few female founders in this space…I couldn’t wait to speak with her and learn about how GenAI is transforming the world of work for the better 🚀
Will big tech monopolise the GenAI market? How does our approach to education need to change? Should we fear sentient AI? We discuss these and other topics about how GenAI is changing how we live and work...

We need better education
Excellence is now a necessity to have a competitive advantage over AI. As the world around us rapidly adapts to the new and exciting capabilities of GenAI, the need to extend our own skills and capabilities becomes more urgent. These technologies open up enormous opportunity for creative individuals who leverage its power, but at the same time this Era is going to be a challenge for many who struggle to keep up with the pace of change. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
We must adapt.
“Anything super original is going to be driven by folks who are excellent at what they do.”
Changing workflows
“The professional and knowledge-worker transformation is going to be really profound,” May explains, describing how companies are soon going to be able to cover operations with 60-70% of the staff. “I don’t know if any of these hundred thousand lost jobs will come back.”
The potential job losses are combined with enormous opportunities for businesses and individuals willing to lean-in to these changes and leverage the power of GenAI.
I asked May how big she thinks the GenAI market is. Her terse reply made me laugh: “A gazillion-gajillion-dollars, Nina.” 😂 We’re in for a wild ride!
I’ll sign off by repeating a core thread of our conversation:
Be critical, not cynical.
Namaste,
Nina
